			Ice and snow sculptures The annual snow sculpture competition in Wolkenstein in December and in Ortisei in mid-January attracts numerous visitors. Each artist produces a carving from a block of snow or ice to be judged by a jury. The ice sculptures remain an fascinating sight in the village for as long as the temperatures permit.
			Sella Ronda Ski Marathon – February International ski race on the famous Sella Ronda circuit! The route is 42 km long and takes in the famous Dolomite passes Sella, Grödnerjoch, Campolongo und Pordoi.
			Gardenissima – end of March The Gardenissima is a very special ski race. The 7 km trail, from Seceda (2500 m) to St. Christina (1400 m), makes it the longest giant slalom in the Dolomites. It attracts World Cup racers and recreational skiers alike. You can enter, too!
			Sella Ronda Bike Day – end of June On a Sunday at the end of June, the passes around the Sella massif are closed to motor traffic and the cyclists are king of the road.
			valgardenaMusika – July & August In July and August, music lovers are the focus of attention: valgardenaMUSIKA offers a wide range of concerts of classical and modern music with famous performers from all over the world.
			Val Gardena in Traditional Dress – August Val Gardena is also well known for its traditional dress, which is among the finest in the whole of the Alps. On the first Sunday in August, the three Val Gardena villages take it in turns to organise the traditional procession in national dress and a street festival.
			UNIKA – beginning of September At the beginning of September, UNIKA’s big annual sculpture exhibition is held in the indoor tennis arena in Ortisei. This is a fine opportunity to see local artists at work for three whole days and obtain a rare insight into the creative process.
			Extreme Marathon – September Val Gardena’s Extreme Marathon is a spectacular mountain race in the Val Gardena Dolomites. When they cross the finishing line on Langkofelscharte, the athletes have covered a distance of 19 km and 1,475 metres of vertical.

			Skiing World Cup – December Every year a Skiing World Cup downhill race and super-G are held in Val Gardena on the famous Sasslonch trail with its notorious Camel Humps. The fan festival generates an atmosphere all of its own.
